PaperChicCo Haul + Review

PaperChicCo are a stationary business that have a range of pretty Blogger related stationary which I am sure will capture your interest and help you become more organised in no time! I am such a stationary addict and I have been trying to find a way to organise my blog posts better as well as my schedule as a whole. You can imagine my excitement when I came across PaperChicCo whilst looking through Instagram, their stationary was a perfect fit for what I had been looking for and I knew it would definitely help me become just that bit more organised.

Detailed Blog Post Planner - £8

This comes with 50 sheets to plan all your upcoming blog posts. It has pretty much everything I need to plan a blog post in advance and help me get ahead on my blogging game. Sometimes I don't have my laptop to just sit down and write a post so it's great that this planner allows me to just write my ideas and outlines for a post if I am out somewhere or on the train. This is something I highly recommend if you want to start organising your posts a bit more!

Mint Weekly Notepad - £4

I tend to write what I need to do or upcoming events on different pieces of paper so it's great to have it all in one place where I can see it clearly rather than flipping through different notepads/diaries. It comes with 50 sheets like the Detailed Blog Post Planner so I won't be running out of sheets any time soon and it is pretty useful for me for when I'm travelling if I need to write down any specific dates or add things to my schedule.

#BeautyBlogger Pencils - £2.50 for a pack of two

These were too cute that I just had to get them! I thought they would look great with my other new stationary and I don't really own many pencils so why not?! I've always wanted a pen or pencil that said something blogger related so I was quite excited to receive these.

PaperChicCo is a brand that I will certainly be purchasing from in the future, their products appeal to me so much, they're unbelievable affordable and have already been quite effective for me in planning future posts! Don't forget to follow on them on Instagram and check out their Website/Etsy store.

What do you think of the stationary I brought? Do you own any blogger-related stationary? Has it helped you become more organised as a blogger?

Sleek All Night Long Palette Review

The Sleek i-Divine palettes are some of my most favourite palettes to have in my collection as they are really inexpensive (£8.99) but yet great quality and the size/weight of them makes it very easy for me to carry around in my makeup bag when out. I haven't browsed some of their newer palettes in a while but after de-cluttering most of my makeup last week I was in need of a new eyeshadow palette that wouldn't be too expensive but was also good quality. I noticed the All Night Long palette which I hadn't seen before and it just captured my attention.

As someone who loves neutral toned eyeshadows this palette was a perfect choice for me, it has a beautiful selection of 12 shades - there are only two matte shades and 10 shimmer shades. The matte shades are great for defining the crease and the shimmer shades add a nice touch of glamour - ideal for an evening look. My favourite shade has to be Prosecco, it's such a beautiful gold.

From L-R: Bellini, Negroni, Martini, Prosecco, Kir Royale, Mimosa, Champagne, Spritz, Mai Tai, Cosmopolitan, Daiquiri and Manhattan

The colours have a really nice creamy texture to them which makes applying them a dream. As promised the palette has quite good pigmentation although I do feel that perhaps Bellini needs a little extra pigmentation.

The colours blend very well with each other and as stated by Sleek they are long-lasting. Even after 10 hours of wearing the colours without primer they remained as vibrant as they were when I originally put them on. I can only imagine how much more vibrant they would look with a primer.

This is definitely a recommended palette for anyone especially for those who loves neutral tones or want an affordable eyeshadow palette. If you are trying to build a makeup kit I would advise you check out all the palettes Sleek has to offer - they're a great asset to your kit. I can't wait to try out some more Sleek palettes as this palette is already one of my favourites.

Have you ever tried this palette or any other Sleek palettes? I would love to know which ones are your favourites! Let me know in the comments below :)

June Favourites 2016

I feel like I say this every month but would you believe how quick this year is going? We are already at the end of June - halfway through the year and it feels like 2016 only started yesterday. I haven't tried a whole lot of products this month but I have found some new favourites that I look forward to using throughout Summer.

Absolute New York Velvet Lippie in 'Toasted'

I haven't been able to pull this colour off all over the lips but it has proved to be a great colour for creating an ombre lip when I wear darker lipsticks. I really love to put on a liquid lipstick like Colourpop's Beeper then add a little bit of Toasted in the middle. It creates such a subtle transition to the darker colour and certainly brings attention to the lips.

Barry M Coconut Infusion Nail Paint in 'Surfboard'

As a fan of darker nail polishes I find it hard to like colourful nail polishes but Surfboard is just soo pretty and makes me want to get into more Summer shades. It also contains Coconut Water & Coconut Oil which have helped my nails to be in a better condition when it's time for the polish to come off. I cannot wait to try the entire range of their Coconut Infusion polishes as they have such beautiful colours.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer

If you like a full coverage look then this is the concealer for you. It it is perfect for covering up any redness that I usually have around my eyes and on my cheeks. Usually I have trouble finding a concealer that matches my skin tone as I am quite pale but this one manages to match me exactly. A beauty blender + this concealer = perfection!

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24Hr Eyeshadow in 'Créme De Nude'

I love using this as a base for my eyeshadow, it really helps to conceal the veins on my eyelids. I like that it dries very quickly and helps my eyeshadow to stay on 10x longer than it normally does. I have also heard it is a great dupe for MAC's Pro Longwear Paint Pot in 'Soft Ochre' so at almost a third of that price you really can't go wrong!

Ardell Demi Wispies

These eyelashes have been one of my favourites for a while, they are so natural and easily blend with the natural lash line. If your going through one of those days where your not really feeling to wear any eyeliner but you still want your eyes to stand out then these will make your eyes so incredibly defined.

Nivea For Men Sensitive Post Shave Balm

I feel like I'm late to the party with this favourite, I have seen so many people rave about it but I never had a chance to try it until my friend did my makeup recently. She put this on as a primer and I can honestly say I don't think my makeup has ever sat so perfectly on my face before this product. It has also got a really nice cooling effect which helps to soothe my skin and reduce some of my redness.

Have you tried any of these products? What are your June favourites? Don't forget to let me know in the comments any products you have been loving as I would love to know!

A Quick Update

I thought I would write a quick post giving an update on the status of this blog. Over the past few months I have struggled to be consistent with my posts because of all kinds of reasons - procrastination being one of the biggest reasons.

As of now I am putting an end to my procrastination so I can make a start into posting more consistent and engaging content on my blog. I cannot wait to get more involved with my blog and so to keep my word I have developed a schedule for new posts. From now on there will be at least 4 posts per week up on the blog.

I would also like to know what posts you would love to see on the blog - let me know via email or comment below!

4 ways to beat Writer's Block

After writing my Blogging Techniques I really wanted to give some extra advice on something that I find happens pretty often to me - Writer's Block also known as 'Bloggers Block'. It is particularly frustrating when your a blogger especially when your under a deadline. It can be disheartening and lead to blogging breaks or even the abandonment of a blog so I have listed 4 ways which I use myself to get me writing.

1) Take a break and go back to it

If you've been continuously focusing on something for too long then a break is definitely needed. You can clear your mind and get back to it when you feel inspired to write again.

2) Brainstorming

This has to be one of my favourite things to do when beginning a new blog post. I often find I have difficulty knowing where and what to begin with so I map it out on a piece of paper. I'll write down key points to make and link further information relevant to those key points. I'll draw arrows to reflect where each thing ties in so when I go to write my post I have a good idea of what I will write and how I will link it all in.

Makeup Revolution Haul

Makeup Revolution is one of those brands I will rave about forever and ever. The quality of their products is soo amazing and the best thing is I do not have to break my bank purchasing them. I really wanted to try some more of their palettes as they are great for travel and have such great pigmentation.

I picked up the Beyond Flawless Eyeshadow Palette, Mermaids Forever Eyeshadow Palette and the Ultra Contour Palette. They were all £8 each and considering I paid £24 for three palettes who can possibly complain at that price? I cannot wait to use them.

Next up I had to get a back up of my Focus and Fix Eye Primer  as it works perfectly with the palettes to create the most vibrant and bold look. At £2.50 it is a great dupe for the Urban Decay Primer Potion. Moving onto lips I wanted to try a couple of their lipliners, I got 'Vamp'  & 'Rebel'. They are really pretty dark shades that will really help me to apply dark lipstick better!

Lastly I got 4 of their lipsticks in 'Lady', 'Magnificent', 'The One' & 'Rebel With Cause'. Each lip product cost me £1! Definitely great for those on a budget or who simply don't want to spend £15 on a lipstick they may not even use that often.

I will be doing a more in-depth review of these products so stay tuned for that! Let me know what you think of the products I got in the comments below and whether you use any yourself. I would love to know what your favourite products are  and also what products I should get next time!

Colourpop Kaepop Collection - Ultra Matte Lips

Colourpop products are something I hear being raved about all the time, in particular their Ultra Matte Lip products. These are great liquid lipsticks and they have pretty much every colour I could possibly imagine and want. They recently launched a collaboration with Karrueche Tran - Kaepop. I only managed to get part of the collection which was the 3 Ultra Matte Lip products - 'Chi', 'Kae' and 'Rooch'. She launched these along with some eyeshadows and cheek products.

Bh Cosmetics Carli Bybel Palette Review + Swatches

When Carli Bybel came out with her palette last year I was determined to try it and now I finally have my hands on it. I am a sucker for neutral eyeshadows so I already knew I was going to love this palette. The palette includes 10 eyeshadows with a mix of shimmers and mattes as well as 4 highlighter shades which is very useful! I paid $18 in total for the palette and shipping. The shipping process was relatively quick and I received the palette after about 6-7 days.

The palette itself is quite sleek, extremely light and not bulky at all therefore making it travel-friendly! There are 5 matte and 5 shimmer eyeshadows in the palette, all are very beautiful versatile neutral and plum shades. Is the pigmentation good? I would say the eye-shadows do have good pigmentation although I do feel you would need to dip your brush/finger into the eyeshadows a couple of times to get amazing consistency and prevent any patchiness.

Bloggers Hangout London Fashion Week Party

On Monday I attended The Bloggers Hangout London Fashion Week Party in Hoxton where I discovered many great brands and met some lovely bloggers. These type of events are always my favourite as they allow you to connect with brands that you may have not previously known about as well as socialise/network with various people.

There was soo many brands at the event that I wasn't able to get around to chatting to all of them but I did manage to speak to quite a few and gain some insight into their products. All of the brands that I spoke to were very helpful and nice towards me. It was also very nice to see some familiar faces and have a little catch-up!

First I spoke to Popkakery who have some of the most tastiest treats I have ever tasted, their Mallow Pops are soo good! Next up was Crobar, a brand I am already familiar with. Their energy bars are made with rich cricket flour which may sound slightly scary but they are actually pretty delicious. I also got to taste some of Crane's lovely cider - Strawberry & Kiwi is the best! Cocktail Mania had some very vibrant looking cocktails so of course I was instantly attracted to them! Their cocktails are extremely refreshing - 'Jungle Fever' was my favourite. Lastly I managed to speak to Heaven Skincare who intrigued me with their products, I will definitely be looking at trying a few products from their range.

It was a very lovely event and I am grateful that I got to attend it. I would like to say a big thank you to The Bloggers Hangout for organising such a great event as well as all the lovely brands I had the pleasure of talking to! Let me know in the comments below whether you have ever attended a bloggers event before or if you attended this event let me know what you thought of it! I would also love to read any other posts about the event so do not neglect to share your link!

Blogging Techniques

Every day there are 100's of new blogs starting out but just how do you get your blog out there, provide good content and promote it? Maybe you are someone who's been blogging for a considerable amount of time but are needing some help. Me and LoveRosiee decided to collaborate on this post so we could bring you various tips/tricks as well as give you some advice to specific issues you may be having.

Blog Posts:

When you first start there are endless opportunities on what to write about, a good idea is to begin writing about what you feel most interested in because it will show through your writing and you will be able to connect with others who share you interest. This also allows you to get used to writing blog posts and develop your own style! Now after some time you may be hitting a blank every once in a while but don't worry! It happens a lot to many bloggers, the way that I deal with it is I have a little book that I write down as many ideas that I can think of. Write down anything and everything so you can get an idea of what your next post will be. If your struggling for ideas, I like to take inspiration for new posts through reading magazines, watching youtube videos etc..

Do not be startled by this word, visuals can be photographs, charts etc.. It is important to include them because they are eye-catching for a reader and quite often are the deciding factor as to whether someone will take interest and click on your post! Therefore it is important especially with photographs to take good quality ones and make sure they are not grainy or difficult to see. If your like me and you hating taking photos every day for stuff such as product reviews, favourites etc. then I suggest you take as many photos as you can in that day so you do not feel constantly bombarded with the task of taking photos and you have additional photos in case anything happens to the ones you were going to use originally.

Take advantage of your social media platforms! Utilise Twitter/Pinterest/Instagram and any other social media sites you are a part of to get your blog out there. Sharing your link will enable you to reach people, allow them to see your content and become a part of your audience. You can use Instagram to share a snippet of an upcoming post, Twitter to pin a blog post tweet to your profile so people will see it when they click on your Twitter account and Pinterest to organise/link all your blog posts into various boards with different categories so people can click on what interests them.

Connecting with the blogging community:

A lot of people ask me how I've formed relationships with other bloggers and to put it simply I get involved in many different events/opportunities such as Twitter chats, Blogger Hangout events and meet ups. I have met many lovely people through blogging and I am always learning something new through others. You can meet other bloggers through Twitter Chats which I think is a great way to both express your opinion and gain more insight on a variety of topics. If you need help finding one that you would like to get involved with then Dungarees & Donuts has made a very informative list with all the times and days when chats are on. The Bloggers Hangout has events throughout the year for bloggers to connect with both brands and other bloggers but you can also find many more meet-ups/events through chats on Twitter.

There you have it, those are a few of the ways you can help both you and your blog grow. Make sure you have checked out LoveRosiee's post as she has also got some pretty amazing tips and tricks in her post. I would love to know in what ways your blog has grown and whether you have some tips/tricks of your own to share. Be sure to let me know in the comments as I love to hear from you!

February 2016 Birchbox Review

This month's Birchbox continues on the positive vibes with another inspirational and cheery theme - 'Shine Bright Like A Diamond' as well as an equally impressive box. February's box features a good range of skincare and makeup products that fit our needs given the current season and adds a little joy to our mood. This month's box also features Birchbox's new in-house make-up brand (LOC) in the form of a shadow stick designed to bring out the glitz and glamour within you and banish the gloominess.

  • Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster - Sample size
This serum is great for making my skin feel nourished and healthy-looking without a greasy feel to it. The vitamin C complex within it helps to bring out youthful and glowing skin as well as replenish your vitamin levels. You don't need a lot of this either to make a big difference.
  • LOC One and Done Shadow Stick in 'Perfect Cents' - Full size
After using this eyeshadow stick I can only look forward to what else Birchbox holds in store for it's make-up brand. There are so many ways to use this product, you can apply it straight to the lid to bring attention to the eyes, you can use it as a creaseless base to layer eyeshadows on top of or you can add it on top of your existing eyeshadow to create a vibrant look.
  • theBalm Cosmetics Frat Boy Blush/Shadow - Sample size
I've never been a big blush fan but I see myself using this as a shadow to sweep across the eyes possibly for a Valentines Day look? theBalm has always been an impressive brand so I look forward to seeing how this product goes.
  • Spectrum Collections Tapered Powder Brush - Full size
This brush is soo unbelievably soft that I can't bear to put it down. I like to use this to apply a powder contour to the hollows of my cheeks as the shaped tip ensures the product applies exactly where I want it to. The super vibrant bristles also are a great change from the generic bristle colour.
  • Ayres Body Butter in Patagonia - Sample size
I prefer using this as a sort of hand-cream simply because it nourishes my skin and doesn't leave an overpowering scent. It also absorbs into my skin pretty quickly so I don't have to worry about my hands being greasy.

  • L.Erickson Grab & Go Ponytail Holder - Sample size
It's always handy to have a hair elastic to hand as you never know when you need them. What is great about these are that they are metal-free so they stop my hair from snagging and getting stuck on the metal part of any normal elastic. They are also extremely secure and hold my hair up.

I think this month's Birchbox has included some great and season-appropriate additions such as the Ole Henriksen Serum and the LOC Shadow Stick. I think there is a great variation of products and there is something for everyone whether your the make-up lover or skincare lover. If you fancy signing up to Birchbox just click HERE and you'll earn 50 Birchbox points to spend in their shop from using my referral link.  That's £5 worth of points and if you review the box/the samples within it you'll earn another 56 points so you will have £10 to spend in the shop in no time! Don't forget to use the code 'HAPPYDAYS' to get your first box half price!

What you think of the box this month and whether you are subscribed/thinking of subscribing to Birchbox. Is there any products that stand out to you this month? What do you think of the variation of the products this month? Do you like the theme? Let me know in the comments below as I always love to know what you think!

Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette Review

I'm quite new to Zoeva's range of cosmetics as I have only had experience with their brushes so far but if this palette is anything to go by then I can only imagine how good Zoeva's other products are. The Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette features 10 unique and captivating eyeshadows that work to create the most beautiful of looks. It is available on Beauty Bay's website for £15.50 which I believe to be more then reasonable considering this palette beats a lot of other high-end eyeshadow palettes which I've tried.

The pigmentation of this palette went way above my expectations, I don't even think you need to use primer with this if I am 100% honest although if you did I would guarantee your eyeshadow would be beyond vibrant and would definitely make for an amazing look. As you can see from the swatches, the eyeshadows pretty much speak for themselves. I would say that the most pigmented is 'Pure Ganache' whereas the least pigmented is 'Beans Are White' but it is a colour you can build up.

From left to right: Bitter Start, Sweeter End, Warm Notes, Subtle Blend, Beans Are White, Pure Ganache, Substitute For Love, Freshly Toasted, Infusion and Delicate Acidity

I noticed also that 'Substitute For Love' is a slightly darker dupe for 'Peanut Butter' from the Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette. I would advice using a base such as the MAC Paint Pot for some of the more neutral shades such as 'Bitter Start' & 'Sweeter End' colour payoff to be better. The palette claims to be easy to blend and I would agree with that, so far I have had no issue blending the eyeshadows.

I also quite like the slim style of the palette which makes it easy to carry around and not take up too much space in my bag. It is also extremely light so it is surely something you can take away with you on your travels. Compared to other palettes at a similar price, I would say it provides that little bit extra in terms of the pigmentation, blend-ability and variation.

What is your opinion is on this palette? Do you own it? What's your favourite and least-favourite shades? Do you think its worth the price? As ever I would love to know in the comments below what you think and any tips/tricks you may have!

After being contacted by this amazing company - Coconut Lane, I had to do a blog post on a couple of pieces I brought from them. January Favourites

As I start the New Year, I have found many exciting products among other things that have easily become my new favourites! I always like to start the New Year trying out new things whatever it may be.

Urban Decay Primer Potion in 'Eden'

After not using primer on my eyelids for some time, I decided it was necessary considering how many times my eyeshadow has creased and not applied pigmented enough recently. This primer is great as it has a light tint to it almost identical to my skin colour so it blends easily and provides a great base for me to apply my eyeshadow onto.

Eylure Firm Brow Pencil Dark Brown

It's always a good thing when an eyebrow pencil includes a spooley as it means easy touch ups when travelling. This product has more of a creamy consistency rather than waxy. Personally my eyebrows are quite sparse at the front and then they become quite full. With the Eylure pencil it enables me to make my brow even and a little goes a long way with this product!

Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette

I'm not sure how much exactly I can express my love for this palette. It literally screams me and I can see myself using every single shade. There is a really good of range of neutrals but also a couple of different shades like 'Harajuku' & 'Danger' to switch up your look, also '1987' is simply beautiful.

Nouveau Lashes Ultrabond Strip Lash Adhesive

I've tried quite a few different lash adhesives over the past couple of years but this one is my favourite. It has never irritated my eyes and I find that I never have to re-apply my eyelashes up at any point with more of this product. You only need a tiny bit of this when applying lashes as it does stay very well.

The Fashion Book

This book is a must-read if you are a fashion fanatic, with in-depth descriptions of everyone and anyone in the fashion world and superb photography this book is certainly an impressive read. I've enjoyed reading this on my daily travels and its pocket size allows me to bring it everywhere so I can have an interesting read.

MAC Lipstick in 'Please Me'

Let me start off by saying that I'm in love with the purple packaging. If you're wondering why it's purple, well this colour was featured as a part of the Magic of the Night collection but this shade is part of their permanent lipsticks so you can still pick it up! It's a nice rose pink that beautifully enhances my lip colour.

Have you discovered any new favourites this year? Are you prone to trying new things with the arrival of a new year? Let me know in the comments what favourites you have discovered so far! I would love to know.
