Blogmas Day 2 - How I Transition Into Winter

As I said in my previous post, I can hardly believe were already in the winter season and Christmas is right around the corner. I decided it would be a great idea to talk about the ways in which I transition and maybe give you a few idea in which you can change your style, makeup etc. now that were no longer in Fall. Winter is the festive season so I do feel like I change a lot to adjust to this and incorporate it mainly into my makeup.

During the winter season, I do really like to incorporate that traditional red lip when doing my makeup but I also find that I tend to reach for purples and hot pinks as they are quite vibrant colours and rescue you from the winter blues! In addition to this I tend to do a lot of gold smokey eyes! For nails I love a nice glitter nail polish (silver usually) or dark blue such as OPI's Russian Navy I feel like it really ties in with the mood of Winter.

With my hair in contrast to going darker I actually prefer to go lighter with my hair. I feel like the colour of my hair as weird as it may sound adds to my overall mood and blonde hair seems to add a little brightness to my day. Although I think Winter is a prime opportunity to go darker with hair as it looks great and if you want further advice on finding a new hair colour for this winter then you should take a look at the Madison Reed Hair Color Quiz. If you do not know of them already, Madison Reed is a brilliant company which specialises in hair care!

Jumpers, long cardigans and parka's are my style all year round but this year I have found that my favourite Winter outfit is comprised of a tartan print skirt combined with either a black turtleneck or a long-sleeved black top. I think a tartan print is a great trend for the Winter and I will probably be wearing it as part of my Christmas day outfit.

Lastly, I will sound slightly crazy given the current weather but I enjoy taking lengthy, scenic and night walks throughout the winter. Possibly because I like the cold & crispy winter as it does my lungs some good. I like to take my walks throughout Central London as the Christmas lights and decorations are breathtaking so I would think it would be a great idea for anyone else to take a little stroll around your local area and embrace the decorations/lights/night sky.

So how do you transition into winter? Do you mainly focus on changing your style, makeup etc or do you incorporate the winter season into all other aspects of your life? Let me know how you transition into Winter in the comments below as I would love to know!
