My Skincare Routine For Dry Skin

Taking care of your skin is very important in order for it to be/look healthy. Simple steps can dramatically transform your skin into healthier looking skin. I prefer to use natural/organic products in order to avoid putting a lot of harsh chemicals on my skin. If your interested in natural/organic products you should definitely check out Lush who have anything and everything for you. I have extremely dry skin and it can be very difficult for me to find products that keep it in check and moisturised!

1) Exfoliate - Ocean Salt Scrub (Lush)

Exoliating helps to get rid of all the dirt clinging on for dear life on your skin! Often I tend to get a lot of dry flakes in the center of my forehead and on the tip of my nose. Since using this scrub I have found that the flakes hardly ever appear now. I like to use this all of my face and put it everywhere but not too close to my eyes/lips. Then I like to rub it in circular motions to deeply cleanse the skin. I like to leave it for a minute or so before I gently wash it off. Try not to exfoliate too much as it will do your skin more damage then good.

2) Cleanse - Fresh Farmacy (Lush)

After exfoliating I like to use a small chunk of this soap to cleanse the surface of my skin. I wet the soap so it glides on perfectly and like my exfoliator I like to rub this in circular motions for about a minute before leaving it for 3 minutes and then I wash it off. I love that this soap contains chamomile as my skin can get agitated by certain cleansers however this helps to calm it down and reduce the redness on my face. I prefer to use this rather than a mask because it is extremely lightweight and creamy! Once you have washed it off pat your skin lightly with a towel to dry it rather than rub.

3) Moisturize - Dr Jart+ Relief Vita Drop  (Dr Jart)

My final step is to moisturize which for those prone to dryness or have dry skin themselves is probably the most important step. It is important for you to moisturize your skin as it will prevent your pores from taking in more dirt and stops your face from becoming even more dried out. This moisturizer comes out like a gel however when applied it feels slightly like a primer but deeply moisturizes my skin. It makes it feel silky smooth and I cannot feel any dry patches on my face. It certainly revitalizes the skin!

That is how I keep my skin in check! What do you do to keep your skin in check? Do you use any of the products above? If so what do you think of them? Once again thank you for reading this post and I hope you have a very lovely day!

Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 Review

I am a big fan of Urban Decay eye shadows and travel-sized palettes so I thought the Naked Basics 2 Palette would be perfect for me! It comes with 6 different neutral shades, five of which are matte and one which is a 'demi-matte'. This palette would be ideal for easing the transition from a day to night look! There is a good amount of each shadow to last you for a long time!

From Left to right; Skimp, Stark, Frisk, Cover, Primal and Undone

The packaging is nice and sleek! Perfect for travelling around and fits perfectly into any purse or handbag. It comes with a mirror also which is quite helpful for touch ups. The price is £23 which I do think is slightly expensive as it does only come with 6 shadows which in my opinion can be a bit too much. Although I do believe Feel Unique currently have a 15% off code for their makeup/hair products and so that would decrease the price of the palette to £19.55, I will leave a link at the bottom of this post!

Personally I doubt I will reach for this palette all the time. It does have it's advantages although I find it difficult to produce an eye look solely from this palette that is complimenting on me. I think however if you are on the way out or to work this would be great to carry around so you can touch up or add some definition to your eyes! I will be doing a comparison between the Naked Basics 1 and Naked Basics 2 soon! I hope you enjoyed reading my review! Let me know what you think of this palette and what other products you would like me to review! Just leave me a comment below!

Makeup Revolution Scandalous Lipstick Review

Recently I have been wanting to go out of my comfort zone with the types of lipsticks I wear! I did not want to spend too much on a lipstick that I could potentially never wear so I checked out Makeup Revolution as they are an amazing and affordable brand that I have brought products from previously . Although I have never brought lipsticks from them so I was not sure what to expect! Whilst browsing I came across these unusual yet intriguing shades! The shades I decided to buy were called 'Depraved' and 'Immoral'. '

'Depraved' is the exact representation of my thought when I think of purple, it is not a dark purple but neither is it a light purple. It is just perfectly between and goes on pretty sheer although you can build it up to the level shown in the photo with a few swipes! 'Immoral' is has slightly more pigmentation although it is still considerably sheer however as with 'Depraved' you can build it up to the swatch as shown! I think it is the perfect baby blue!

I am aware that there are other shades in the Scandalous range however they do not reach out to me as much as the ones that I purchased. For £1 they are pretty impressive and no doubt will I be purchasing other lipsticks from Makeup Revolution. These are perfect if your a bold person or you just want to reach out of your comfort zone! What do you think of Makeup Revolution? What other products would you like to see reviewed? Let me know what you think!  Follow me on Twitter/Instagram for updates!

Want to check out the lipsticks yourself or browse Makeup Revolution's products?

Birchbox February 2015

It's that time again for a review on my favorite subscription company! This month we celebrate Valentines Day and Birchbox has decided to go with the theme 'Birchbox Loves'. They  also celebrate the launch of their Slimbox designed to fit through the majority of letterboxes. I think this is a brilliant idea as some of my previous boxes had been left outside due to not being able to fit through the letterbox. In addition to this it is perfect for those who are constantly working and cannot/don't have someone at home to receive their box. I myself have opted for the Slimbox and I am happy to say it fit perfectly through my letterbox. If your worried about not a bigger sample not fitting in the Slimbox, do not worry Birchbox will add an extra sample to make up for it! If you want to sign up there will be a link that will earn you 50 points and a code for free 3 samples!

  • T London Darjeeling Bath & Shower Wash - With chamomile and green tea this is certain to be extremely calming. I look forward to using this on a day where I just want to kick back and relax!
  • theBalm Cosmetics Stainiac in 'Beauty Queen' -  When I applied this product the colour was not too intense and I actually quite liked it! All I would say is you need to work quickly when applying this because I can still see the little patch where it was first applied! I have noticed many people comparing this to 'Benetint' by Benefit which I have yet to try out but will be doing a comparison soon
  • Wild About Beauty Golden Skin Glow - When I first applied the product  I was quite intimidated as it came across way to dark for my pale skin tone however if you keep on blending it turns into a lovely subtle glow with few shimmer specks! Perfect for a bronzed look in the summer
  • Liz Earle Beauty Co. Botanical Shine Shampoo - I've never really tried anything from Liz Earle other than her renowned Cleanse and Polish. I'm currently on the lookout for a new shampoo & conditioner so I am looking forward to trying this out!
  • Ren Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask - This is my least favorite item in the box as I know I will not be using it. I am not a huge fan of face masks anymore but I hope to try more of Ren's other products.
  • The Chia Co Oats + Chia in 'Mixed Berry' - This is the lifestyle extra within the box. I don't think it really goes with the theme of this months Birchbox I would of preferred some chocolate however I will give it a try none-the-less as Mixed Berry does sound nice!

Overall I think the February Birchbox was impressive, I am happy to see brands that I know and love as well some other brands that I would not generally think to even try! Although I think the products could of been more centered around the theme of Valentines Day such as some chocolates. Should you want to sign up for this months Birchbox there is a link below that will allow you to earn an extra 50 points by using it! Let me know what you thought about this months Birchbox! Have a lovely day and I hope you enjoyed reading this review!

* I did not receive this box for free. I paid for everything with my own money. All opinions stated are my own.
