Blogmas Day 7 - The Christmas Tag

I couldn't think of a better way to get into the festive spirit than to do this tag seeing as we are fast-approaching Christmas day. Be sure to let me know in the comments below what your answers are to some of these questions and  if you have done a Christmas Tag post yourself then link it!

1. Whats Your Favorite Holiday Movie?

For me it has to be 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas'. I love the Grinch even though his smile used to scare me I think Jim Carrey does an amazing job in portraying him and how cute is Taylor Momsen as a child?! It's hard to believe this movie is even 15 years old!

2. What Are Your Favorite Christmas Colors?

Gold will always be my favourite.

3. Do You Like To Stay in Your PJs Or Dress Up For Christmas?

I like to stay in my PJs when opening presents but I always dress up for Christmas dinner.

4. If You Could Only Buy One Person a Present This Year Who Would It Be?

That's soo unfair! Although if it had to be one person then I would definitely say my dad as he deserves it!

5. Do You Open Your Presents Christmas Eve Or Christmas Morning?

I always open mine on Christmas Morning, that way I feel it's more special because it's Christmas day.

6. Have You Ever Built a Ginger Bread House?

No, but after this I might have to!

7. What Do You Like To Do On Your Christmas Break?

I love Christmas shopping and wrapping peoples presents but I think ultimately my favourite thing to do is to travel around London and observe all the Christmas decorations.

8. Any Christmas Wishes?

That everyone has a lovely and happy Christmas!

9. Favorite Christmas Smell?

I love the Yankee Candle Christmas Cookie scent, I literally just want to buy 10 of them for myself for Christmas!

10. Favorite Christmas Meal Or Treat?

I love Chipolata's, my Christmas dinners are never complete without them and I feel like I treasure them all the more because Christmas is the only time I have them.

Blogmas Day 5 - Christmas Wishlist

I've never done a wishlist post so I thought especially considering the time of year it would be a great idea! As you can see the majority of it is makeup items because you guys know I love my makeup. First up in my wishlist is Boutique Of Molly's 'Halle' Lace Cami Midi Dress which is stunning and definitely something I would love to wear to the upcoming Christmas parties! I've been wanting a whole new set of brushes so when I saw the Zoeva Vegan Prime Brush Set  I fell in love. I always need more Makeup Revolution palettes as they're high-quality and the shades in the Beyond Flawless Palette I need. The Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette is undoubtedly something I have been lusting over ever since it was released and it smells like chocolate so how could I resist? With all this new makeup I want obviously I will need somewhere to store it and the MUJI Acrylic Box - 5 Drawers provides all the space I need. The Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Palette looks utterly amazing, I just love that theres a couple of different shadows other than your general neutrals. Despite it being winter I still want that healthy glow and the Laura Mercier In The Glow Trio looks like it has all I need to retain that glow. I've recently discovered Coconut Lane and their Prada Wall Art is something I need to have above my blogging table. Lastly I've been desiring these gorgeous River Island Heels, they are the perfect shows for New Years Eve!

What do you want this Christmas? Is there anything on this list that you want to? Let me know in the comments!

Blogmas Day 3 - Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette Review

Everybody knows the Naked palettes are a makeup lover's dream so you can imagine the hype the Naked Smoky Palette was given when it was released this year. Given the hype I was more than thrilled to have this product in my possession but also quite critical as to whether it would rise up to the standards given by it's predecessors.

Let's talk about the packaging, I love it! I think the overall design ties in well with the name of the palette and it doesn't come across to me as too bulky or flimsy. My only criticism would be the area for the brush is slightly small so it is sometimes a struggle to take the brush out when I need to use it. Moving onto the dual ended brush given, I feel it's brilliant for blending and packing on eyeshadow plus it is always nice to have a brush included as well.

From left to right: High, Dirtysweet, Radar, Armor, Slanted, Dagger, Black Market, Smolder, Password, Whiskey, Combust & Thirteen.

The pigmentation of the shadows itself are decent and do not require an immense amount of product to actually make a difference although I will say the shades 'Black Market' & 'Armor' are not as pigmented as the others. When I applied the shadows, they did have a chalky feel to them and I noticed with some shades they would need slightly more packing on than the others mainly the matte shades. In addition to this I did experience a small amount of fallout with both 'Slanted' and 'Armor'. With that said I do feel that shades within this palette are very appropriate given the concept and do provide a nice variety of smoky mattes and shimmers/glitters. It is definitely something to check out if you or someone else you know is a big fan of Urban Decay shadows.

Do I feel the product is worth it? I think it is a good product, I like the concept of the palette and I think given that the eyes are primed it is absolutely going to provide you with a beautiful look. However I simply do not believe it is worth the entire £38 which this palette costs as it needs a little more pigmentation in some of it's shadows. In addition to this I myself know there are better palettes out there for a much more affordable price. If it was a little cheaper I would surely say it is much more worth it but given that it is Urban Decay I did expect much more out of the palette. Regardless of this I will be picking it up to use often as the shades are very much my type of shades.

Do you own this palette? What are your favourite shades? Do you think it is worth it's price tag? Let me know in the comments below what you thought of this palette as I would love to hear your opinions!

*I paid for the product shown with my own money. All opinions/thoughts are 100% honest and are my own.

Blogmas Day 2 - How I Transition Into Winter

As I said in my previous post, I can hardly believe were already in the winter season and Christmas is right around the corner. I decided it would be a great idea to talk about the ways in which I transition and maybe give you a few idea in which you can change your style, makeup etc. now that were no longer in Fall. Winter is the festive season so I do feel like I change a lot to adjust to this and incorporate it mainly into my makeup.

During the winter season, I do really like to incorporate that traditional red lip when doing my makeup but I also find that I tend to reach for purples and hot pinks as they are quite vibrant colours and rescue you from the winter blues! In addition to this I tend to do a lot of gold smokey eyes! For nails I love a nice glitter nail polish (silver usually) or dark blue such as OPI's Russian Navy I feel like it really ties in with the mood of Winter.

With my hair in contrast to going darker I actually prefer to go lighter with my hair. I feel like the colour of my hair as weird as it may sound adds to my overall mood and blonde hair seems to add a little brightness to my day. Although I think Winter is a prime opportunity to go darker with hair as it looks great and if you want further advice on finding a new hair colour for this winter then you should take a look at the Madison Reed Hair Color Quiz. If you do not know of them already, Madison Reed is a brilliant company which specialises in hair care!

Jumpers, long cardigans and parka's are my style all year round but this year I have found that my favourite Winter outfit is comprised of a tartan print skirt combined with either a black turtleneck or a long-sleeved black top. I think a tartan print is a great trend for the Winter and I will probably be wearing it as part of my Christmas day outfit.

Lastly, I will sound slightly crazy given the current weather but I enjoy taking lengthy, scenic and night walks throughout the winter. Possibly because I like the cold & crispy winter as it does my lungs some good. I like to take my walks throughout Central London as the Christmas lights and decorations are breathtaking so I would think it would be a great idea for anyone else to take a little stroll around your local area and embrace the decorations/lights/night sky.

So how do you transition into winter? Do you mainly focus on changing your style, makeup etc or do you incorporate the winter season into all other aspects of your life? Let me know how you transition into Winter in the comments below as I would love to know!

Blogmas Day 1 - November Favourites

This year I'm taking part in Blogmas which believe me is a real challenge for me but then who doesn't like a challenge? I have a range of exciting and varied posts to share with you this month and I hope you enjoy them all. Today were looking at my November Favourites which somewhat scares me a little as it reminds me that the year really has flown by, one minute it's Summer the next it's Winter although I'm not really complaining as I do love Winter. With that said I think it's time to have a look at what I found to be great during November.

Over the past few months I haven't really bothered to use a primer before doing my entire face as I was not seeing any difference in the outcome of my foundation. obviously it was the product I was using as this does a great job of absorbing any excess moisturiser and providing a smooth base for my foundation to be applied to. It dries super quick so it is ideal for when I'm in a rush to do my makeup and as it says it does hold the foundation in place all day.

Nude lips are always my thing and I love that they are always fashionable. This particular lip liner reminds me of MAC's Lip Liner in 'Oak' as it works very well with MAC's Lipstick in 'Honeylove'. It is also considerably cheaper than the MAC Lip Liner which obviously makes me very happy as I won't break my bank trying to have the perfect nude lip. NYX in general though do have amazing pigmentation and this product certainly meets those standards.

This was a magazine freebie which after reading this post you will be able to easily tell that I am obsessed with them! This is a lovely little travel sized mascara which does a great job at lengthening the lashes rather than clumping them together with minimal effort required due to the unique wand of the mascara. The colour of the mascara is a nice solid black which enhances the lash and brings them out more.

This product definitely ties in with the Winter season and the dry skin that it brings on. It pretty much does the job that is required of it. What I like that put this higher than over lotions is the way it glides onto the skin and is not too heavy on it. Once applied the moisture is locked in so you don't need to worry about flaky skin or dry skin. Not to mention the scent of this is enough to make me buy it purely because of that.

Another freebie that I received last month in a magazine, this lipstick has a slightly sheer finish but provides a beautiful pigmented nude with what I consider to be a peachy tint. The finish is a tad glossy which I highly prefer over other finishes as it does not make my lips feel as if they are extremely dry. I like that it is such a perfect colour for an everyday look and unlike some other lipsticks you can see what the colour is on the outside so you don't have to worry about picking up the wrong lipstick

Like I said this month, I went freebies mad and couldn't get enough of them. I haven't really tried many Ren products but this cream has been a big help with my skin in repairing it from the harsh and cold weather. After cleansing & toning applying this makes all the difference and I find that unlike many other moisturisers this cream doesn't irritate my skin or cause it to go red.

So what did you think of November's favourites? Do you use any of these products yourself? What were your November favourites? Let me know what you think in the comments as always because I would love to know!

Maybelline The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette Review

Neutral eyeshadows always make for a beautiful and complimenting eye look not to mention they are extremely versatile and look lovely on anyone. I thought it would be great to take a further look at a popular and affordable eye shadow palette to see if it is worth it. The Nudes Palette has been talked about quite a bit with many highlighting that it has a good range of colours as well as being a good alternative to more expensive palettes.

Firstly, I like that this palette is quite small and therefore fits easily into my makeup bag or makeup storage drawers. On the other hand the plastic packaging makes it feel somewhat cheap and easy to break but then for £9.99 I would not expect anything near amazing. In terms of the price, I would say that it is reasonable considering the amount of shadows you get (12 to be exact!) but then you need to remember they are quite small and don't contain an enormous of product.

Moving onto the most important thing about this palette - the shadows. There are a range of a few mattes but more shimmery shadows than anything else. In terms of pigmentation, I feel the majority of the shadows are considerably pigmented however a couple such as the first on the top row and second to last on the bottom row lack pigmentation and are probably only best used as an inner corner highlight. I would advise packing the shadow on to give a good build up of colour if your going for an intense eye as I find for some of them such as the black they are quite soft and don't apply as deep as they should. I don't experience much fallout or find that the colours transfer around my eye at all but I recommend you use a primer beforehand, I use the Makeup Revolution Focus & Fix Eye Primer I would say it works well in conjunction with this palette.

Now for the big question, is it worth it? I'm slightly torn due to the fact that whilst it is a great everyday palette with considerable pigmentation and an affordable price tag it also has it's flaws as any product does. In my opinion I think this product needs just a couple more gold tone shadows and more pigmentation especially in regards to the matte colours. However if your looking for something that has the basic structure of a nude palette, is affordable and something capable of creating an everyday look then this is the palette for you. Let me know in the comments below whether you own this palette and what your thoughts are on it.

Makeup Revolution Slogan Palette Explicit Content Review

For those of you that don't know, Makeup Revolution is a brilliant brand that provide exceptional quality with the products they sell. Today were going to be talking about the Explicit Content Palette, it's a versatile palette complete with 36 eyeshadows - both matte and shimmery. There are mainly neutral eyeshadows however there are a few bright ones should you want to add a pop of colour to your look.

I own quite a few Makeup Revolution palettes and I can gladly say that I prefer to use them over many high-end brands as they are both affordable and the products never cease to amaze me! In regards to the packaging, thankfully the palette is appropriately sized so I can pop into my handbag if I need to touch my eyes at any point. It's also quite secure as my bag did suffer a few tumbles and none of the eyeshadows broke at all. I also quite like the slogan on the front, it differentiates it from other palettes!

Let's talk about what we all really want to know - is the pigmentation good? I've swatched all 36 eyeshadows so you can get a clear idea of just how good these are! The swatches are from the top row to the bottom row!

As you can see from the swatches, the quality and pigmentation of the eyeshadows is pretty amazing! A lot of them are quite soft and buttery touch which makes application all the more smoother! I have to say the second row is my favourite as it has a variation of colours! These are also very long-lasting even without a primer, they managed to stay on my eyes all day without fading and that is another thing, I find there is little-to-no fallout with these eyeshadows! I've included a photo below of a look I created with the palette.

Is the palette worth it then? Absolutely for the price you pay (£7.99) your getting 36 high quality eyeshadows that be can be utilised to create virtually any look! I would definitely suggest this palette for those who want a wide range of eyeshadows or who like to save a bit money as you really can't go wrong with the price!

Thank you for reading! Do you own this palette? What are you favourite shades? Do you own any other Makeup Revolution products? Let me know in the comments! There will be a link below if you want to buy the palette. Have a great day!

5 Ways To Stay Positive

Positivity is hard to come by especially when your really not feeling in the mood or you've had a really bad day. I thought it would be a great idea to share with you some things I find can really cheer you up or add a spring to your step!

     1. Start the day with your favourite music

Nothing beats waking up to your favourite song or melody. Set it as your ringtone for your alarm so when you wake up you feel much more energetic and happier than what you would usually feel when you wake up.

     2. Make a Positivity Poster/Collage

Get a piece of A3 paper and stick all the images/quotes on it that encourage you and make you feel happy. I would advise putting it above your bed or somewhere you often look so when your not in the mood you can take a quick glance at it and be reminded of happy things!

     3. Smile at someone

Most people underestimate how much a smile can do for someone. Remember smiles are contagious and brighten up anyones day. Smiling even when you don't feel like it can really enhance your mood and get rid of all that negativity inside of you.

    4. Set an inspirational/motivational image as your background/lock screen on your phone

In this day and age, most of us spend a good amount of time checking/playing on our phone. Wouldn't it be great to go on your phone after you've had a rough time and see a quote/image that truly inspires you and turns that frown upside down!

   5. Plug in your headphones and take a walk

Nature walks are one of my favourite things to do especially when I have music in my ears as it really lifts my mood. Some quiet time alone and strolling through the beauty of the outdoors can truly take away any worries/doubts/negativity you may have and it's also  exercise so why not?

Thank you for taking the time to read this post! I hope you got something out of it and may use one of these ideas next time your not in the best mood. I would love to hear some of the ways you keep positive, let me know in the comments and have a great day!

July Favourites

It's been a while since I done a favourites post but I have been using some amazing products which I really wanted to bring to your attention if you haven't seen them already! The majority of these products are summer essentials that have really made a difference for me!

  • MAC Strobe Cream £24.50 for 50ml
I got a sample of this cream whilst I was on holiday after the recent emphasis on strobing, this is a lovely lightweight cream that can be mixed into foundation to create a nice dewy look, used alone to give a subtle glow to the skin or you can use it as I do - I like to take a little bit and pat it onto the cheekbones to emphasise and highlight them. This product is quite pricy but I would definitely say a little goes a long way with this.

  • Green People Scent Free Sun Lotion £5 for 30ml
After having two encounters with nasty sunburn, I realised I really needed something to protect my skin from the sun. I received this product in my July Pink Parcel and I love it! It's non-greasy so it doesn't make my skin feel icky or oily. In addition to this it's 78% organic so I feel reassured that I am not putting any harsh chemicals on my skin.

  • Dove Summer Glow Nourishing Lotion £3 for 250ml
This is a great product for those of you who want a summer glow but don't actually want to go out in the sun. With a gradual tanner, this product does not make for an overly fake tan and its lotion is very hydrating so this is perfect for when you come out of the shower. I haven't experienced any streaking with this either.

  • MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ £17 for 100ml
A must-have for those with dry skin. This refreshing mist provides hydration in these hot summer months where your skin starts to feel sweaty. I like to apply this before I put on my makeup as it tends to stick well with my foundation. It can also be applied after putting on all of your makeup to add a finishing touch.

  • MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in 'Kooky' £3
When it comes to lip shades I have an obsession for dark colours in particular purples despite it being summer. The great thing about these Lip Lacquers is that they are cheap, well pigmented and long lasting. I will definitely be doing a further in-depth review on this product and the rest of the range!

  • Zoeva 227 Luxe Soft Definer Brush £6.95
All I can say is this brush blends like a dream, it's perfect for blending out those transition/crease colours. Zoeva is one of those brands that remains affordable yet definitely supplies in quality. If your just starting out in makeup or can't afford to buy expensive makeup brushes then Zoeva is surely the way to go. I've also heard this is comparable to the MAC 217 brush.

Thank you for reading! I would love to know what you loved in the month of July and whether you discovered/rediscovered any amazing products! Let me know if any of these products are also one of your favourites! Have a lovely day!

Update: Blogging Breaks & Future Posts

I would just like to say it's such a joy to be back writing a post to you guys once again! I would like to apologise for my lack of posts and interaction with my social media accounts. I just want to clarify as to why I took a break from blogging for a little while. I felt as though I wasn't enjoying blogging as much as I did before and I no longer felt as motivated as I used to. In addition to this I had a bunch of posts written up ready to post in June that managed to get deleted which simply made me all the more frustrated and not in the mood to blog.

Now moving onto the future I am glad to say that I will be way more consistent with my blog and I have a ton of exciting new posts to bring to you! I have re-ignited my flame for blogging and cannot wait to connect more with my readers and bring you better content! Posts from me will be more frequent so if you have any suggestions for future posts that you would absolutely love to see then please do comment, I would love to hear what you have to say!

You Beauty Discovery May Review

Another month means another You Beauty Discovery shortlist of products. This month features the likes of Too Faced, Benefit and The Body Shop amongst many other great brands. If you are unsure about what You Beauty Discovery, it is a monthly subscription box for which you pay £6.95 - this includes delivery. You get to pick two products from a selection and you also get extras which are mainly samples. It is a great alternative to Birchbox/Glossybox as it is considerably cheaper and you have complete control over what you want to receive! I will leave a link at the bottom of the post to their website, should you want to take a look.

My Selection:
  • Benefit They're Real Push-Up Liner
This is my current eyeliner and seeing as it is almost finished I wanted a back up as I absolutely love it! I like a precise line when it comes to eyeliner and this gives it but I would say it requires some practice before getting it right as the tip can be a bit hard to control some times.

  • The Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Miracle Solid Oil
Argan Oil is great for it's moisturising properties and I have very dry skin and hair so this should be great! I also like the fact that it is solid as most of the time when oil is in liquid form we tend to use more than needed so with this I have more control.

  • Dr.Organic - Organic Snail Gel
  • Jimmy Choo Man
  • Voucher for 20% off beauty and fragrance at M&S
Thank you very much for reading! I hope you liked the post! Let me know if you have tried any of the products in this months selection and what you think about them. If you have done a review for this month then link it in the comments, I would love to read it! Have a lovely day.

Top 5 High End Beauty Favourites

Hi guys!
Me and the amazing Smoothamy have decided to a post on our favourites! We thought it would be great to cover both sides of the spectrum - high end and drugstore seeing as there are amazing products on each side. I have done high-end favourites whereas Amy has decided to drug-store favourites! So don't forget to check out her brilliant post! If you like any of these products let me know! I would love to find out what you think of them and whether you use them in your makeup routine! If you've done a similar post then link it down below I'd love to read it!
  • Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette £32
I'm in the love with natural eye look, I can't get enough of neutral shadows. This palette is absolutely amazing for that, it includes nine versatile and beautiful shadows to give the eye a nice touch! There are 3 sections day/classic/fashion that each feature 3 beautiful eyeshadows to give you a desired look. It also comes with a leaflet that helps advise what shadows to use for a different look. I will be doing an in-depth review of this pretty soon with swatches.

  • MAC Lipstick in 'Ruby Woo' £15.50
I know a lot of people love this lipstick and I can see why, its classy and really emphasises your features. It's a beautiful shade of red that I would say anyone can wear. I'm wearing it in the picture of me on my blog. I personally think it's a great investment as I use it quite a lot and still a considerable amount left!

  • Benefit Roller Lash Mascara £19.50
This product has been everywhere in the past couple of months seeing as it launched recently. This mascara is amazing, out of all the mascaras I've tried they don't compare to this! I would say it is more of a lengthening mascara than a curling one however the result it gives is nonetheless stunning! With this mascara I have no need for eyelash extensions!

  • Benefit High Beam £19.50
Such a lovely product for highlighting! It gives such a beautiful healthy glow especially when used on the cheekbones, it really helps to bring out your features. I like to use it with conjunction with Benefit's Hoola to add dimension to my face. If you prefer a liquid highlight over a powder highlight then this is the one for you!

  • MAC Pro Longwear Concealer £17
This concealer provides perfect coverage and stays put throughout the whole day. I use this with my studio-sculpt foundation to give an additional coverage. Out of all the MAC concealers I have tried I prefer this one the most. I would advise you to try this concealer if your need of one, although I would recommend you to work quickly as it sets soon after being applied.

  • L'Occitane Immortelle Essential Water - This is an alcohol free toner that helps to remove makeup and soothe skin. Personally I have only ever tried their hand creams but I look forward to trying some of their skincare!
  • Richard Ward Gravitiser Sleekening Cream - I do tend to get some frizzness so I am interested to see how this product works and it smells quite nice!
  • Anatomicals Botanical Hydrating Rose Face Mask - I have always been quite fond of Anatomicals and their interesting product names & descriptions. Since I have dry skin I have high hopes that this mask will do my skin some good.
  • Flamingo Candles Lemon & Lime Mojito Scent Melt - The smell is extremely invigorating and a lovely spring scent.
  • Drinking Fudge (Classic Chocolate flavour) - Looks to be quite an interesting concept and I will probably be breaking this out on a cold rainy day to cheer me up
  • Montezuma's Organic Milk Chocolate Butterscotch - Chocolate always makes me feel better so I am glad to have received this and I absolutely love Montezuma's products!
  • 18 normal pads and 5 night time pads

I hoped you like this post and thanks for reading! Have you ever tried Pink Parcel? Let me know in the comments what you thought about this months box! I hope you have a lovely day and don't forget to check them out!

Makeup Haul (MAC, Too Faced)

I've been in a bit of a shopaholic state recently! I've been waiting for a while to get some new makeup so I thought I would share with you what I got! I brought these things from a mixture of places so I will put where exactly got it from in brackets.

  • MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation in 'NW15' £25 (MAC) - I needed a new foundation as my Face & Body is almost gone and I want a much better coverage. I brought this after being advised by a MAC employee that this was good for my dry skin. I will be putting up a review on this and informing you on how good it does it's job!
  • MAC Toledo Collection Lipstick in 'Sin' £17 (MAC) - I really liked the packaging of this lipstick, I was tempted to buy some of the other lipsticks in the collection although I own similar shades. I don't have anything like Sin and I think it is a lovely Burgundy-Red that compliments me well!
  • Eyeko Skinny Liquid Liner in 'Black' £6 (BeautyBay) - My Benefit They're Real Liner is almost out so seeing as this was on offer  I thought why not. I find that liquid liners in pen form are a lot easier to use!
  • Benefit RollerLash £19.50 (Birchbox online store) - There has been so much hype around this mascara and I can see why! Having tried a sample of this in my March Birchbox I just had to buy the whole thing. This has got to be the best mascara I have tried so far.
  • Benefit Lollibalm £14.50 (Birchbox online store)- One of my friends talked about this and said how much she like it so I really wanted to give it a go! It is a tint rather than a lipstick which would be good for days when I don't want a full blown lip. It's so cute too!
  • Makeup Revolution Iconic 3 Palette £4 (Superdrug) - This is considered a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette which I have wanted to try although I cannot justify sending £38 on shades which I am unsure about. So I thought I would try this as its a cheaper alternative to see if I would like it.
  • Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette £32 (Debenhams) - This was literally at the top of my wish list! The shadows in it are simply beautiful and being honest I can say there is not one shadow I don't like or won't use. I love taking it on the go with me everywhere so I can add a lovely touch to my eye makeup. It is a must have if you love a neutral eye!
Have you tried any of these products? What are your opinions? What's on your wish list? Let me know in the comments! I love hearing other peoples opinions! Thank you very much for reading this and I hope you have an amazing day!

Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner Review

Need some affordable lip liners? Rimmel does some good ones! Whilst on a recent trip to Superdrug I picked up 'Eastend Snob', 'Red Diva', 'Obsession' and 'Epic'. Each one was £3.99 and I do believe at the moment Superdrug is doing an offer where you can buy 1 and get the 2nd 1/2 price off. They are twist up liners which I prefer a lot more than the ones you sharpen although this means there is less product. One thing I would say is be cautious with the top as it seems to come off quite easily.

They are travel friendly and you can take them wherever you go for touch ups. The longevity of the product I would say is 3-4 hours for me personally. Some days I fill in my lips entirely with these lip liners rather than use lipstick as these give more of a natural look. They have great pigmentation and certainly exceeded my expectations.

From left to right; 'Obsession', 'Eastend Snob', 'Red Diva and Epic'

I think my favorite has to be 'Eastend Snob'. I find it quite similar to 'Soar' by MAC although I think 'Eastend Snob' is more wearable. If you like the 'Kylie Jenner' lip then this is the lip liner for you. It's a beautiful light mauve shade that is a great touch to an everyday face. 'Epic' seems to remind me of MAC's 'Oak' lip liner and you could wear 'Red Diva' and 'Obsession' together for a nice dark red/slightly berry lip colour!

Are these worth it? The pigmentation and price of them is enough to say yes. For £3.99 you really can't go wrong. For those of you who don't want to spend a huge amount of money on lip liners these are great and I find they are a good if not better alternative to MAC lip liners. It would be nice to see a few more colors in the product range as I believe there are 6 in the range (2 of which I haven't picked up).

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day! Let me know what you think of these lip liners and what your favorite colours are! Is there anything you would like me to review? Should you want to check them out for yourself there will be a link to the Superdrug website below!

You Beauty Discovery March 2015

I think by now you can tell I am obsessed with subscription boxes so it comes as no surprise that this post is about one! You Beauty Discovery is a monthly subscription box which costs £6.95 per month. You get to pick two products from a shortlist each month and in addition to those products you get some extras such as chocolate, samples and other beauty products.

They feature a good range of well-known and loved brands so there is always something that is for you! Delivery is 5-7 days although my box came quicker than that!  In my opinion this box is perfect for those who want a cheaper alternative to the other subscription boxes out there or those who like to know what they will be receiving rather than having that element of surprise. The theme for this month was Best of British.

My Selection:

  • Illamasqua Lipstick in 'Sangers' (Matt finish)
I only own one other Illamasqua lipstick which funnily enough I also got from You Beauty Discovery last October. The shade of this lipstick is such an elegant red and adds a touch of sophistication! It reminds me of MAC's 'Ruby Woo' although I think 'Sangers' is a little bit darker. The price of this lipstick itself pays for the box!

  • The Vintage Cosmetic Company Eyelash Curlers
Surprisingly I didn't own a pair of eyelash curlers before I got these ones. In my opinion the curlers are not overly amazing although they do give a good curl which is all I really need from them. Paired with mascara and you will have beautiful lashes!

  • Nakd Bar in 'Berry Delight'
I love it when I get food in boxes as I am constantly hungry! I like the concept behind this brand and I like that they are vegan friendly too! Although my taste buds didn't seem to like this flavor. Regardless I know they do other flavours which I am sure I will like and will surely be on the lookout to try.

  • Dove Youthful Vitality Shampoo & Conditioner
My hair can get extremely dry so this shampoo & conditioner should be good for when my hair needs a little rejuvenation. I like that they gave us both the shampoo & conditioner as I find some companies give only the shampoo or conditioner and so its harder to get a feel of what the range is like!

I am quite pleased with this months box and I am definitely looking forward to April's selection of products! Want to check out You Beauty Discovery for yourself? There will be a link below! Once again thanks for reading and I wish you all a very happy & blessed day! Why not tell me what your thoughts are on this box or what you think of the selection this month?

Teen Parcel Review

I am so excited to be bringing this company once more to your attention.  As you may or may not know it will be International Women's Day on Sunday the 8th of March. Pink Parcel is offering an amazing opportunity in which anyone who signs up on that day will receive a free parcel! If you do not know what Pink Parcel is, it is a subscription box company that is designed for that time of the month. Each box will include tampons or towels, selection of which one is entirely up to you and in addition to that you will receive some amazing treats which include beauty products, tea and chocolate.

This subscription box is perfect for those who are forgetful in buying their essentials, those who might be shy or simply those who want to feel pampered during that stressful time. There are two types of boxes you can receive from Pink Parcel - Teen Parcel which I will be reviewing in this post and Pink Parcel  which I have previously done a review on. There will be a link for that at the bottom of this post. Let it be noted that this offer is available only to new customers. If you wish to stay subscribed to them then it will £9.99 per month. The Teen Parcel is aimed for younger girls so a lot of the products will be age appropriate. Should you feel you want slightly different products or are part of an older audience then I definitely think you should give Pink Parcel a go.

 Contents of the box:
  • Yardley  Hydrating & Enriching Body Lotion in 'Uplifting Daisy'
  • Clean & Clear Spot Control Cleanser
  • Clean & Clear Spot Control Moisturiser
  • Clean & Clear Fast Clearing Spot Treatment
  • Binky London Nail Polish
  • Teapigs Chocolate Flake Teabag
  • Haribos Starmix Mini Pack
  • A beautiful little bracelet with a silver bow
  • A 10% discount for Binky London
  • 25 Tampons

In regards to my opinions on this box I love that they really thought about the type of products to put in the box. As a teenager you are prone to spots due to a range of things such as stress and hormones so to have skincare that is designed to target that is always an asset. The Yardley Body Lotion is perfect for when you are not in the mood. The Binky London Nail Polish is a colour that I know many will love and one that I am quite fond of myself and a 10% discount will come in handy should I want to try any of their other products. In addition to this it was brilliant of them to include some Haribos and a Chocolate Flake Teabag. I have tried this particular teabag before and I love it so I am sure you would like it too! The little bracelet was a lovely touch and it was packaged beautifully! Lastly I am sure you can agree that the number of tampons they give is you more than enough!

Once again I would like to thank you for reading this review and I would also like to give a huge thanks to Gemma and Pink Parcel for giving me this opportunity! I hope you all have a lovely day and let me know what you think about Pink Parcel in the comments.

My Skincare Routine For Dry Skin

Taking care of your skin is very important in order for it to be/look healthy. Simple steps can dramatically transform your skin into healthier looking skin. I prefer to use natural/organic products in order to avoid putting a lot of harsh chemicals on my skin. If your interested in natural/organic products you should definitely check out Lush who have anything and everything for you. I have extremely dry skin and it can be very difficult for me to find products that keep it in check and moisturised!

1) Exfoliate - Ocean Salt Scrub (Lush)

Exoliating helps to get rid of all the dirt clinging on for dear life on your skin! Often I tend to get a lot of dry flakes in the center of my forehead and on the tip of my nose. Since using this scrub I have found that the flakes hardly ever appear now. I like to use this all of my face and put it everywhere but not too close to my eyes/lips. Then I like to rub it in circular motions to deeply cleanse the skin. I like to leave it for a minute or so before I gently wash it off. Try not to exfoliate too much as it will do your skin more damage then good.

2) Cleanse - Fresh Farmacy (Lush)

After exfoliating I like to use a small chunk of this soap to cleanse the surface of my skin. I wet the soap so it glides on perfectly and like my exfoliator I like to rub this in circular motions for about a minute before leaving it for 3 minutes and then I wash it off. I love that this soap contains chamomile as my skin can get agitated by certain cleansers however this helps to calm it down and reduce the redness on my face. I prefer to use this rather than a mask because it is extremely lightweight and creamy! Once you have washed it off pat your skin lightly with a towel to dry it rather than rub.

3) Moisturize - Dr Jart+ Relief Vita Drop  (Dr Jart)

My final step is to moisturize which for those prone to dryness or have dry skin themselves is probably the most important step. It is important for you to moisturize your skin as it will prevent your pores from taking in more dirt and stops your face from becoming even more dried out. This moisturizer comes out like a gel however when applied it feels slightly like a primer but deeply moisturizes my skin. It makes it feel silky smooth and I cannot feel any dry patches on my face. It certainly revitalizes the skin!

That is how I keep my skin in check! What do you do to keep your skin in check? Do you use any of the products above? If so what do you think of them? Once again thank you for reading this post and I hope you have a very lovely day!
